Post-Higher Education Work Stream

The Post-Higher Education Work stream is designed for eligible graduates who have completed an eligible degree-level qualification in Australia.

Depending on the circumstances, eligible graduates may be able to remain in Australia temporarily to work and gain professional experience after completing their studies. The stream has specific requirements relating to age, previous Student visa status, Australian study, English language proficiency, health insurance and other criteria.

Unlike the Post-Vocational Education Work stream, applicants in the Post-Higher Education Work stream do not generally need a skills assessment for the 485 application.

Second Post-Higher Education Work Stream

Eligible graduates who have previously held a Temporary Graduate visa in the relevant stream may be able to access the Second Post-Higher Education Work stream, subject to meeting the applicable requirements.

Eligibility can depend on the applicant’s previous Temporary Graduate visa, study history, regional residence and other criteria. This pathway is subject to specific legislative requirements and should be assessed individually.
